My Vision
I've always believed that design can profoundly influence our everyday routines. Before founding Monocromo, I spent years honing my eye for detail and deepening my understanding of people's interaction with their living spaces - the way layouts shape movement and daily rituals, how subtle shifts in proportion create a sense of openness or intimacy, and the balance of materials and light that makes a space feel effortlessly lived in.
My work is rooted in the personal connection. I listen first, then shape each project around your routines, priorities, and long - term needs. The result is architecture that feels calm, balanced, and carefully tuned - timeless in character, realistic in budget, and responsive to the way you live.
While my work often features clean lines, restrained palettes, and natural textures, these elements are always shaped by your preferences. Whether you're planning a London home extension to accommodate a growing family, a new build elsewhere in the UK, or a deep retrofit to enhance energy efficiency, I approach every project with curiosity, care, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel balanced, comfortable, and enduring.
Mindful Environmental Approach
My design balances environmental care with resource efficiency. This is key when working with both period properties and modern developments. Integrating renewable energy solutions, high - performance insulation, and responsibly sourced materials, reduces energy use and long-term costs while maintaining the character of your home.
Built for the Future
A well-designed home should stand the test of time - both structurally and in the way it supports life's evolving needs. By focusing on durable construction, adaptable layouts, and enduring design principles, I create homes that remain practical, efficient, and inviting for years to come - economically, environmentally, and architecturally.
Beyond work
Outside of work, I find joy in simple, everyday moments. Cooking dinner for my family is one of my favourite ways to unwind - it's both a creative outlet and a chance to slow down after a busy day.
I also love walking my dog, Bery. Yes, just one "r," almost like a berry but more like a bear. She's a Labrador and a constant source of energy and amusement, even in the office.
Spending time outdoors is another passion. Whether hiking through the woods, following a river's path, or simply being near water, I find nature both grounding and inspiring. I love the ocean too, even if I'm more of an observer than a swimmer.
