about this project:
Interior Design
Full flat transformation
Sofia, Bulgaria
This project reconnected a period home with its garden, introducing more light, clarity, and balance into the ground floor. The existing spaces were dark and fragmented; the goal was to create a calm, open layout that feels warm and welcoming without losing the character of the original house.
A new garden room with full-height glazing and a roof light now draws daylight deep into the interior, softening shadows and creating a clear sightline to nature. The transition from old to new is intentional — refined, but not abrupt — allowing the home to feel cohesive and continuous.
In the kitchen, traditional framed cabinetry in a deep, muted tone is paired with brass details and a natural timber worktop to bring warmth and tactility. The layout prioritises simplicity and everyday function, while the handmade finishes and natural materials lend depth and individuality.
The polished concrete floor provides a quiet, durable base that visually links each space together. Black window and door frames add structure and contrast, grounding the lighter interior palette.
The result is a home that feels both familiar and refreshed — respecting history while making space for modern life.
